When I was a kid in high school, I always carried this hematite stone around. I had read about it in The Secret Circle series by LJ Smith (now a TV show!), I’m sure, and for whatever reason, it appealed to me. I recall that it was oft referred to as the crystal that helps you “surrender to your shadow self”…
While that phrase intrigued me, I never really connected to the stone that way.
To me, it kept all the darkness from life in a greater balance with light. It helped give me a foundation as I felt I had none – it helped with stability.
Well, I am reading Healing with Gemstones by Pamela Louise Chase & Jonathan Pawlik for school, and have gotten to the part that tells you details about a wide variety of stones.
Needless to say, when I read this entry, I had to chuckle to myself:
The Hematite Deva
I help to soften the severity of emotional pain so that your experiences do not feel as devastating. With less emotional pain you will find it easier to take responsibility toward redirecting your actions. My energies also help to break the pattern of thought that says, “The present will be like the past. Things always happen this way for me.” When the perceived continuity between experiences is broken, you can begin to change your thoughs about failing or feeling like a failure. When you choose to release emotional pain, I can help you redirect your energy into a more balanced state. Rather than being an observer where experiences happen to you, I encourage you to utilize your emotional energy in more effective ways. I help you to value yourself, and to become your own counsel for strength.
Ahhhh… that’s why hematite always seems like an old friend whenever I come across one.
Have a great weekend – and for those on the East Coast who battled the earthquake earlier this week and are now battling Hurricane Irene.. much <3 & Reiki Light to you.
